Arles Exhibition
Sunday, June 7, 2009 at 11:33PM Just returned from Arles on a visit to see GALERIE HUIT where THE HALF exhibition will be showing from the 7th July. If you are in the area, come to the Private View on the 8th for a decidedly funky evening... This week also sees the press night of PETER PAN (Kensington Gardens), a spectacular production with an astonishing 360 degree CGI of Neverland and the pirate kingdom... it was a real pleasure to be making the photographs for this show

Saw your book recently, fabulous photos, love the tense atmosphere. I work both as a designer in theatre and a curator, so when is your show back in britain and what is its tour schedule?
Simon Annand's exhibition in the Galerie Huit was the best exhibition I saw during Les rencontres de la Photographie" in Arles ! His portraits are so stong, showing actors in a moment of intense concentration. His book is the treasure I was looking for during this festival and brought it back to Paris. I also had the immense pleasure and honor to meet the photographer during the vernissage. The man is so kind, humble, and open-minded that it's not surprising the greatest actors accepted to be portrayed by him during this critical moment of The HALF, where they need to be fully focused and undisturbed.
When he goes into the lodge, Simon disappears and the actor appears.
